Welcome to Kerryfish, Irelands premier home
delivery fishshop.
Those of you that are familiar with our business will know The Quinlan Family
well. Michael Quinlan and his sons set up this wonderful business a number of
years ago and are very much pioneers within the online fish market. With over
40 years direct experience of both fishing, fish processing, fish exporting
and retailing the Quinlans name has a fantastic reputation for the best quality
Seafood.
The Best Access to Fish
We specialise in sourcing the finest fresh fish for our customers. We are the
only online fish business in Ireland with its own boats, The Celtic Quest, Skellig
Light and The Myrdoma, plus we have a number of direct deliveries from other
local Kerry boats.
We can supply all fish to suit your needs including whole fish, headed and gutted,
filleted and portioned. In fact we will prepare products however you would like
us to just add a comment when buying.
Our Lobsters
Our speciality, recognised as the finest flavour Lobster you can buy. These
are caught in the clear blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean off the South Kerry
coast. Still mostly caught by small inshore boats, they command a higher price
than the imported varieties. Kerry Lobsters are in our opinion simply irresistible
and we can send them either live or cooked and prepared for you.
Our Crabs
Kerry Crab is wonderful and you cannot beat fresh hand-picked product. Our crabs
are landed around the Kerry coast, mainly by small inshore boats using traditional
methods. They are then cooked and picked daily to ensure the freshest and finest
product reaches you.
Our Shellfish
We offer a range of shellfish both fresh and frozen from Dingle Bay Prawn, Langoustines,
Valentia Harbour Scallops, and Glenbeigh Cockles and Mussels.
Our Smoked Selection
Our Wild Irish Smoked Salmon is firm and oily, rich in omega 3 polyunsaturated
fats. Kerryfish Wild Irish Smoked Salmon is cold smoked and this produces a
product with a delicious mild flavor, our traditional smoking recipe gently
smokes the tender wild salmon fillets using the distinctive flavor of the old
Irish Oak. Our certified personnel hand slice our product and carefully package
them according to your instructions. Our customers love the taste and texture
of Kerryfish Wild Irish Smoked Salmon products!
Great care is taken to assure that only the finest grade of salmon is accepted.
The smoking process takes approximately 24 hours and your order is dispatched
by courier ensuring that you can enjoy our premium products a few days after
they have been caught in the wild atlantic ocean. Order some today and taste
for yourself this one of a kind delicacy.
How is our fish different from my supermarket
fish counter?
1) We stock more kinds of fish than any other fishmonger.
2) The quality of our fish is never compromised. All fish is super fresh
and ready for shipment very soon after landing from our boats.
Many supermarket fresh fish counters sell fish that may be in their supply chain
for many days or even sell defrosted fish.
3) We always sell the highest quality grades of fish. This means we can 100%
stand over its quality. We know that some of our fish is expensive, but it makes
fabulous eating and based on its quality and freshness you will not get the
same value anywhere else.
How much fish should I be eating?
According to the BIM we should be eating at least two portions
of fish a week including one of oily fish. But most people arent eating enough
fish. Fish and shellfish are rich in protein and minerals, and oily fish is
rich in omega 3 fatty acids.
Oily fish
Oily fish such as sardines, herring, mackerel, trout and salmon are all rich
sources of omega 3 fatty acids, which help prevent heart disease. These fatty
acids are also important for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding because
they help a babys nervous system to develop. Most people should be eating more
oily fish because omega 3 fatty acids are very good for our health. Oily fish
are also a good source of vitamins A and D.
Herea list of oily fish:
- Salmon
- Trout
- Mackerel
- Herring
- Sardines
- Tuna
